____________________________________________ Resented the power of the Colonial Governor who monitored and enforced British laws. ____________________________________________ Great Britain wanted strict control over the colonial legislatures. ____________________________________________ Opposed to taxes. ____________________________________________ Proclamation of 1763- King George III stated that the land won in the French and Indian War went to the Indians. This meant that the settlers could not move West of the Appalachian Mountains because that was Indian territory and it was dangerous for the settlers to go there. ____________________________________________ The colonists were also upset that they were being forcefully controlled by Britain which was 3,000 miles away from them. Only British citizens in Britain were allowed to participate or elect members of Parliament. |
